Despite all that has come against me, I am still here! I am a Hope Messenger and I will always be a Hope Messenger.
Please be encouraged today knowing that whatever difficulty you are going through right now will come to an end and the sun will shine bright again! I am living proof of that! Hope and Blessings to you!!
“Hope is not like a lottery ticket you can sit on the sofa and clutch, feeling lucky…. hope is an axe you break down doors with in an emergency.” ~ REBECCA SOLNIT, Hope in the Dark
Did you know Hope is an axe? Not just to break down doors, but to chop away at any obstacle that you may face now or in the future. Are you hoping for something right now and yet you feel like the obstacles are just too big? Well I say stand up, look up and Move Your Axe! 🙂
Sometimes the obstacles we face seem almost impossible to overcome. Maybe it’s fear or health issues, doubt, despair, marital problems or the many other things we encounter throughout our lives. Believe it or not, there are opportunities in those obstacles.
How, you may ask. Well, when we face an obstacle and proceed towards it with determination, we prove to ourselves the strength we possess. This in turn increases our Hope that we can actually overcome difficult situations. The next time you face an obstacle remember that anything worth achieving will probably have them.
It’s when you proceed in the strength within you that your Hope will grow and miracles can happen. And if you are currently facing an very difficult obstacle may you be encouraged to gain a new life vision so that you may be filled with Hope! ❤ 🙂
Must we always be moving towards our Hopes for them to be fulfilled? I think not. There are times in our journey towards whatever it we may be Hoping for that we just need to sit and rest.
Make sure you pick a good resting point, imagine one like sitting under the above tree. A place that will give you calm, relaxing, even rejuvenating feelings, surrounded by beauty. A place of rest like this allows us to renew our strength for the journey that is often uphill and at times treacherous.
If you are hoping for something and you feel out of energy, take a moment to rest. Then, before you know it, Hope will lift you off your feet as you soar towards the fulfillment of it!
Beyond Blue is an Australian organisation dedicated to providing services and raising awareness surrounding depression and anxiety. This week, they launched a new campaign targeting passive racism against Indigenous Australians. The television ad, titled “The Invisible Discriminator”, depicts a number of Indigenous people encountering racism in everyday situations, wherein the offending person may not seem to realise that their actions are racially motivated and they certainly don’t realise the effects that their actions have.
The ad in itself is incredibly powerful, and lends a perspective towards racism that people often overlook or do not consider. For me personally, it wasn’t so much the fact that these people were being discriminated against because of their race. What struck a chord with me was that these people were being singled out or rejected or treated differently because of something they have no control over.
Have you asked yourself, “Does having Hope create a paradise?” If so, you know it doesn’t. So one may ask, then why should I have Hope? Let me tell you why, because to Hope means everything. One of the beautiful wonders of being human is the capacity to Hope.
In the midst of hoping for something I have often wondered how I could actually have hope when the situation looked completely impossible. That is the beauty of Hope. It lifts us up above the situation and allows us to have a new perspective. When we are faced with a difficult situation or anything that calls for Hope we have a choice to make. We can choose Hope or Hopelessness.
When we choose Hope it gives us strength to continue moving forward. And although it does not create a paradise, it is a thing of beauty that makes our heart sing. So please, choose Hope today! 🙂
There is no beauty in life more than the beauty of having hope.
I recently captured this photo in my back yard. The beautiful butterfly had landed on the ugly patch of concrete and shell mixture. Until that moment, I had thought that patch had no redeeming value and I couldn’t wait to remove it. When he landed there, it reminded me of times in our lives when we hold onto hope even in the ugliest situations. Then, I got a glimpse of how Hope must appear in the unseen realm, a beautiful reminder of better times ahead. Often we struggle to hang on during the difficult times we experience in our lives. When you encounter one of those times remember, there is beauty just ahead ready to land right in the middle of the ugly. Hope and Blessings to you!! 🙂
Have you ever hoped for something so long that it made you wonder if it would ever come to pass? I know I have and yet something caused me to hang on for dear life. Now at times this may take you down the wrong road, but most often it leads you to the fulfillment of that which is hoped for!
I have experienced this many times. Once I held a hope for over 30 years that finally came to pass, another over 15. These were things I wanted with all my heart, things that were good for all involved. I am a firm believer that hope leads us to beautiful places, even if there are twists and turns in the road.
“There had to be dark and muddy waters so that the sun could have something to background it’s flashing glory.”
― Betty Smith
Darkness does serve a purpose. Life often gets filled with dark and muddy waters. It is in those times that the light can shine its brightest. If there was no darkness, we wouldn’t appreciate the light. The sun represents hope. Each day we are given a new opportunity to see the goodness in our day. I’m sure you have heard it said before, “You can only experience joy in proportion to the amount of sorrow you’ve felt.” So when you are going throught those dark and difficult times, remember the sun will show up again and it will be full of hope and glory! 🙂
“When you feel like hope is gone, look inside you and be strong and you’ll finally see the truth- that hero lies in you.”
― Mariah Carey
Inside of each and every one of us lies a hero. Sometimes it feels like all hope is lost. When these times occur we must go inside and tap into strength that lies within us. Hope springs eternal in the human soul. And the human soul on fire is the most powerful force on earth. If you feel like your hope is gone, look within, there you will find it. May your soul be on fire and FULL of HOPE! 🙂
It is a comfort to know even the tiniest of hopes can get us through the most difficult times. Where there is breath, there is hope. Hang on, a new day is dawning and you shall rise from the ashes! Be encouraged! 🙂 🙂
“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”
― Charles Dickens
Giving doesn’t have to be hard or cost anything. It could be as simple as a smile or helping someone elderly cross the street. We can give someone a listening ear or a hand up after they fall. There are so many things we can give in a day and they all inspire hope. Today I encourage you to have a giving heart because it will increase hope in you and others! 🙂
“It’s the possibility that keeps me going, not the guarantee.”
― Nicholas Sparks
The word possible refers to that which may come about or take place. If you can focus on the fact that something is possible, without a guarantee it will happen, you will set yourself free. There are very few guarantees in life, except for the reality that our mortal bodies will cease to exist at some point, while we are still alive we will HAVE to use the restroom and sooner or later we will HAVE to sleep. Because life has few guarantees, doesn’t it make sense to focus on what is possible? Believing in possibilities allows us to envision a future full of promise and provides strength in today to get us there one step at a time. Do you believe in possibilities?
This morning while I was in my garden watering the plants, a baby bunny hopped right up to me. He stopped about 12 inches from my feet and started eating some grass. I stood there in awe. It was so precious. As I stood there watching him, I felt love flood my heart. I knew in that moment it was the love emanating from me that gave that little bunny the green light to come near me.
Love is unconditional. Love matters. And it is the only thing I have to give in my current situation. Last week I received some life shattering news. My only grandchild was diagnosed with a devastating disease that typically causes premature death. My heart is torn almost in two and yet, I remain in love.
I had asked my grandson several years ago, “what is hope?”and he answered, “it’s love.” Hope is Love and Love is Hope. They operate together and now more than ever I am centering myself on the two of them. Although I do not know what the future holds, I know who holds the future and He is Love. There, I shall remain.
“It’s probably my job to tell you life isn’t fair, but I figure you already know that. So instead, I’ll tell you that hope is precious, and you’re right not to give up.” ― C.J. Redwine
No matter what you may be facing right now, don’t give up. Never, ever give up! Even though you may say, “yeah but, this isn’t fair,” have hope anyway. Truth is, no matter what you are going through right now, it will pass at some point and the sun will shine again. When we choose to hope through even the most difficult things in life, we are empowered. Hope is precious. Hang on to hope no matter what! 🙂
“When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless. But when you get involved, you feel the sense of hope and accomplishment that comes from knowing you are working to make things better.” ~Albert Einstein
Each new day provides us with an opportunity to be active in our hope. When we are doing something, large or small, to improve our situation or that of another, we increase our hope. Hope in action makes a difference. Move in it today! 🙂
Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping–believing that he
would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how
many descendants you will have!” Romans 4:18 New Living Translation
You may be facing one of your darkest days. My hope for you is that against all hope, you remain in hope. May you have a strong mind, stayed on the promises of The Most High. When we focus our eyes on him, we can hope when there is no reason for hope. For we know, he will always make a way. So, there is always cause for hope. Much love to you!
“Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means everything’s possible again. You live in the moment, you take it all one day at a time. You try to walk in the light” ― Marie Lu
The light is always there, hope is alive and well. Each and every day we have a new opportunity to walk in hope. No matter how dark your day may seem, the light will always prevail.
“But you can build a future out of anything. A scrap, a flicker. The desire to go forward, slowly, one foot at a time. You can build an airy city out of ruins.” ― Lauren Oliver
Hope can spring forth from a scrap, a flicker, even a speck. It’s true you can build a future out of ANYTHING. No matter what you are going through at this moment or how bleak it may look, hope remains. It is ever-present and always waiting to be embraced. So, take one step and then the next, your future awaits! 🙂
“Hope has two beautiful daughters – their names are anger and courage; anger at the way things are, and courage to see that they do not remain the way they are.”
– St. Augustine
Anger does have its place, it can benefit us when we use its energy in the right way. Anger is an emotion often characterized by feelings of great displeasure, indignation, hostility, wrath and vengeance. It is an expression of our dissatisfaction with life. We all have an angry wild being buried deep inside. Anger is an important and necessary component for our ambition and motivation. When we combine anger with the courage to change things, hope flourishes. Courage is contagious and so is hope. So the next time you feel anger brewing, choose change and grow your hope!
“There’s a rainbow in the sky, all the time, don’t be blind” ~Ziggy Marley
No matter how things may look at this moment, there is a rainbow somewhere in the sky right now. Take a look around and you will find it. It may not be at first glance, but it is there. The rainbow represents hope. It is a symbol that reminds us the sun is coming out again. If it is raining where you are, keep moving. Soon you will be at the edge of the rain and the rainbow will appear.
There are times in our lives when we feel like we can’t go on anymore. I’m here to remind us to never give up! When life hits you hard, Look within and find Hope! Join me and share your hope with someone today!
“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
― C.S. Lewis
Even if you don’t feel it at the moment, better things are headed your way. And if you feel the better right now, get ready, because better than better is about to arrive. Hope is alive and well and with you now. So go ahead, try it on and you will be lifted up! 🙂 🙂
The natural flights of the human mind are not from pleasure to pleasure, but from hope to hope.” ~ Samuel Johnson
Have you ever wondered what really moves us from one place to the next? If you break it all the way down, you find hope. Hope moves us. It down right propels us, even when we think we have come to the end. Hope gives us a second wind, and a third, a forth, its power is endless. However, we must first choose it. Once we embrace hope, the sky’s the limit. You see, to hope is human and the mind craves it. Empower yourself!
“We are ready to despair too soon, we are ready to say, ‘What’s the good of doing anything?’ Hope is the virtue we should cultivate most in this present day and age.”
― Agatha Christie
Agatha Christie’s words on “hope in this present day and age” are even truer today than when she spoke them many years ago. There are things that show up in our life, sometimes too often, beckoning us to fall into despair. Hope is a choice. When we choose to cultivate it in our lives we color our journey with the power to overcome despair. Hope is a virtue worthy of cultivating.
God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” ― Padre Pio
Prayer is an effort of our will. The power of prayer should not be underestimated. It is not the result of the one praying. Rather, it is the one being prayed to that brings the power to it. When we add hope to our prayers we can stamp out worry. Trust your prayers are being heard and acted upon and have hope.
Kind words are a creative force, a power that concurs in the building up of all that is good, and energy that showers blessings upon the world.
Lawrence G. Lovasik
Our words have incredible power. They can encourage and uplift those around us, and strengthen their hope. Or they can tear down the spirit of another. We have a choice to make. Will our words be full of kindness or bitterness? When kind words are spoken the spirit is lifted up and hope grows. Let’s speak more kind words! 🙂
“This is radical hope. Hope in the face of a firing squad. Hope in the face of facts, of overriding evidence to the contrary, of having not the slightest clue of how it might be realized, but choosing hope nonetheless.” – Julie E. Neraas
Today may be a difficult day, maybe even the worst of days and yet, there is still hope. No matter how low you go, there is still hope. It is always there waiting for you to choose it. Be radical, make hope possible. Choose it Now!
“Hope is the companion of power, and mother of success; for who so hopes strongly has within him the gift of miracles.”
― Samuel Smiles
Hope is always there. Will you choose to believe in it? Once you do, never stop. Hope has a power that is manifested through faith. Together, hope and faith sets the stage for miracles. Choose Hope Now!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Ireland Nugent lost her lower legs to lawn mower blades on Wednesday, and few things make the accident more heartbreaking than the fact that she’s only 2½ years old. Experts say kids who lose limbs adjust to prosthetics quickly. Read more
“The new day has greeted us with no rules except for the rules we placed with it, greet it with open arms and endless possibility.”
― Steve Maraboli
Isn’t it a comforting thought to know a new time is opening before you? There is so much hope wrapped up inside of a fresh start. Everyday we wake up is a opportinuty to seize the new hope available. Be encouraged. There is a new time inspiring new hope on its way to you! 🙂
“Renew, release, let go. Yesterday’s gone. There’s nothing you can do to bring it back. You can’t “should’ve” done something. You can only DO something. Renew yourself. Release that attachment. Today is a new day!”
― Steve Maraboli
Want to grow your Hope? Let go of old hurts and things of the past. There is not a thing we can do to change yesterday. However, we can have a better today and an even more wonderful tomorrow when we let go of the heaviness yesterday can bring. When you carry that hurt around it continually causes that injury to fester. Letting go allows the wound to heal. Healing ushers in Hope.
Me? I couldn’t imagine a world without hope.” ― Richelle Mead
This world is not an easy place to dwell, no doubt. There are times when it seems that everything is at war with what we seek. And yet, Hope is always there on the horizon calling us forward. Moving in it is a choice we must actively make. If you have been thinking there is no hope for you, I am here to tell you there is, guaranteed. Do you have Hope now? Be a Hope Messenger and share it with someone in need. We can help others see a way when they can’t see their own. Hope and Blessings to you! 🙂 🙂
There are many ways to grow hope. We can choose to do things that makes us happy. When we are happy our hope increases. Another way to grow hope is to choose it. We have to want hope to actually grow it. Be positive. Look on the bright side of things. Build your endurance. It is key to growing your hope. Choose hope, be happy, stay positive, keep going and you will grow your hope step by step! 🙂 🙂
“Despair is for people who know, beyond any doubt, what the future is going to bring. Nobody is in that position. So despair is not only a kind of sin, theologically, but also a simple mistake, because nobody actually knows. In that sense there is always hope.”
― Patrick Curry
None of us really know what the future holds. If we choose to be in despair, we deny a powerful force. Hope is always there no matter how we feel. When its power is harnessed, we are lifted above our circumstances. Hope or despair, it’s our choice. Because we don’t know the future, hope is always the better choice.
Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, these ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.
Robert F Kennedy quotes
There is so much truth in this quote. I believe together we can build a current of Hope that will sweep the earth with its goodness. There are so many people everywhere who are already creating ripples of Hope. I hope to see more of those ripples joined together! 🙂
I would like to thank everyone who has liked or commented on a post, as well as all of you who are following this blog. I value each and every one of you and this world is a better place as we all join our hope together. Hope and Blessings to you! 🙂
12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope-the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
“I inhale hope with every breath I take.”
― Sharon Kay Penman
Hope is always there. All we have to do is breathe it in each day. Although life is difficult at times, Hope is only a breath away! Will you Choose Hope Now?
“To hope under the most extreme circumstances is an act of defiance that permits a person to live his life on his own terms. It is part of the human spirit to endure and give a miracle a chance to happen.”
― Jerome Groopman
Are you facing a challenge? Hoping against all hope allows us to press on even in hopeless situations. Life tends to dish out some extreme circumstances. However, the human spirit has the ability to endure far more than we can imagine. When we choose to hope against those odds something wonderful happens. We open the way for miracles to happen. If you are now dealing with what seems like a hopeless situation I encourage you to choose to hope against the odds!
Joining my hope with yours! Hope and Blessings to you!!!!!! 🙂 🙂
“No. Don’t give up hope just yet. It’s the last thing to go. When you have lost hope, you have lost everything. And when you think all is lost, when all is dire and bleak, there is always hope.” ― Pittacus Lore
“Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery.”
― J.K. Rowling
“For after all, the best thing one can do when it is raining is let it rain.”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“My happiness grows in direct proportion to my acceptance, and in inverse proportion to my expectations.”
― Michael J. Fox
There is freedom that comes when we can accept ourselves, others and our circumstances. Although it is not always easy, there is no better way to live. Wikipedia tells us “Acceptance in human psychology is a person’s assent to the reality of a situation, recognizing a process or condition (often a negative or uncomfortable situation) without attempting to change it, protest, or exit.” With acceptance comes peace. Accepting a difficult situation does not mean we must give up hope. Instead, acceptance increases our hope. When we have peace in our heart through acceptance, our hope is able to rise above our circumstances. Most of us are faced with things we must accept on a daily basis. Rather than struggle with it, accept it.
Hope is an echo,/hope ties itself/yonder,/yonder ~ Carl Sandburg
What do you see when you look into the future? If you’re not sure or you would like to improve it, send out an echo of hope. An echo is the repetition of a sound. I like how Carl Sandburg says “hope is an echo” as hope ties itself together, calling yonder, yonder. You can have a future full of hope as you send the sound of hope ahead of you. Hope has a way of pulling you onward and all the while repeating itself anew every morning. So speak of hope and let it echo ahead of you!
“Every new day is a once in a lifetime event. How much more exciting would our lives be if we embraced this truth and lived accordingly?!”
― Steve Maraboli
We can always count on the hope of a new day and all the opportunity it brings. No matter what happened yesterday, today holds new promise and tomorrow even more. When life threatens to dash your dreams, there’s always a brand new day on the way! So don’t give up or give in, look up and see hope is new each day!
“Hope is a force of nature. Don’t let anyone tell you different.”
― Jim Butcher
According to Wikipedia, a force of nature is a natural phenomenon that humans cannot control. Hope is a force, not a feeling. I believe hope is a force of nature. I also believe we all have it at our core. Hope is our foundation, built by this force of nature. It is not something we can control, in that, it is there regardless of what we do. The action we must take is choosing to harness its power, allowing it to propel us forward. Will you choose it?
“The capacity for hope is the most significant fact of life. It provides human beings with a sense of destination and the energy to get started.”
Norman Cousins
What is your capacity for hope? The Merriam-Webster dictionary states the definition of capacity is the power to produce, perform, or deploy; the ability to hold, receive, store, or accommodate. According to Norman Cousins our capacity for hope is the most significant fact of life. We must receive the hope that comes from above and hold it in our hearts. We must also deploy that hope into our day and into the lives of others. The more we do, the better our lives become. I encourage you to increase your capacity for hope!
“Where there is no vision, the people perish” ~Proverbs 29:18 King James version
Do you have vision? Dictionary.com tells us to have vision means-the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be: an experience in which a personage, thing, or event appears vividly or credibly to the mind, although not actually present, often under the influence of a divine or other agency: something seen or otherwise perceived during such an experience: The vision revealed its message: a vivid, imaginative conception or anticipation.
We all have the capacity for having vision. We must set our minds to it and then act on it before we see it with the naked eye. Having vision creates an atmosphere for hope. It’s true, no vision, no hope. Without hope, we cease to want to live. Look inside and find your vision.
“When today fails to offer the justification for hope, tomorrow becomes the only grail worth pursuing.”
― Christopher Bigsby
When a day passes and your hope has not manifested, don’t give up on it. Tomorrow always brings another opportunity for it to shine. Don’t let you hope die in today for there is hope in tomorrow!
“In joined hands there is still some token of hope, in the clinched fist none.”
― Victor Hugo
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “to hope is human.” We can only be human together. When we join our hands one to another, hope grows. Too often hands are tight fisted, clinched in hate and discord. It’s time to come together in one accord with growing hope as our intention.
“I’ll admit that my garden now grows hope in lavish profusion, leaving little room for anything else. I suppose it has squeezed out more practical plants like caution and common sense. Still, though, hope does not flourish in every garden, and I feel thankful it has taken root in mine.”
― Sharon Kay Penman
“Life without thankfulness is devoid of love and passion. Hope without thankfulness is lacking in fine perception. Faith without thankfulness lacks strength and fortitude. Every virtue divorced from thankfulness is maimed and limps along the spiritual road.”
― John Henry Jowett
Even in the worst of times, there is always something we can be thankful for in life. Being thankful in our hope alters what we see in the present. It strengthens our hope. Wikipedia tells us thankfulness is a positive emotion or attitude in acknowledgment of a benefit that one has received or will receive. Being positive while hoping increases the manifestation of that which we hope for at the time. It helps us magnify that fine perception. Thankfulness is one of Hope’s Partners for sure!
“Hope is the power of being cheerful in circumstances that we know to be desperate.”
― G.K. Chesterton
Life brings us challenges in many shapes and sizes. Sometimes the challenge is almost unbearable. The situation you are in now may look bleak, but remember, there is always hope. While hoping through a desperate situation, employ a cheerful heart. When you do, you cause happiness to rise up and then you can see things with a more optimistic view. Seeing things this way will increase your hope and strength. It’s true, a cheerful heart is good medicine.
Nobody has the power to make things perfect..but everyone is given countless chances to make things right.. THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE!
~Unknown
Have you felt like giving up on something lately? Maybe you tried and failed at something. These are the times when we need to remember, no one is perfect and failure is only failure if we quit. Although some things take doing it over and over again to get it right, there is always hope. Thank goodness life does give us many chances to get it right. So often we don’t realize we are three feet from gold. If we just keep going and keep hoping, that which we seek will surely show up!
“Never give up hope, though the world seems to come to an end. Always trust your heart and you’ll have hope.”
~Shanyn Pace
Sometimes the happenings of this world can distract us from our path. Those are the times when we need to listen to our heart. If we do, it will tell us not to give up, to have hope. Let’s face it, our planet isn’t the easiest place to exist. However, we have within us an eternal flame that will always light the way if we go with all our heart.
“To hope under the most extreme circumstances is an act of defiance that permits a person to live his life on his own terms. It is part of the human spirit to endure and give a miracle a chance to happen.”
― Jerome Groopman
We all have it within us, this thing called hope. Sometimes it’s a banging drum and sometimes it’s just a distant echo. However, it is always there. Hope allows us to continue moving forward when reason tells us to quit. I am truly grateful for its power. Many times I would have crumbled under life’s blows without it. The human spirit is an amazing creation and to hope is human.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Of course, I am partial to the Bob Dylan version. However, I could not find a video of him singing it. This song always increased my hope when I listened to it. Sometimes all we can do is press on, knowing a better day is on the way!
