“It’s the possibility that keeps me going, not the guarantee.”
― Nicholas Sparks
The word possible refers to that which may come about or take place. If you can focus on the fact that something is possible, without a guarantee it will happen, you will set yourself free. There are very few guarantees in life, except for the reality that our mortal bodies will cease to exist at some point, while we are still alive we will HAVE to use the restroom and sooner or later we will HAVE to sleep. Because life has few guarantees, doesn’t it make sense to focus on what is possible? Believing in possibilities allows us to envision a future full of promise and provides strength in today to get us there one step at a time. Do you believe in possibilities?
This morning while I was in my garden watering the plants, a baby bunny hopped right up to me. He stopped about 12 inches from my feet and started eating some grass. I stood there in awe. It was so precious. As I stood there watching him, I felt love flood my heart. I knew in that moment it was the love emanating from me that gave that little bunny the green light to come near me.
Love is unconditional. Love matters. And it is the only thing I have to give in my current situation. Last week I received some life shattering news. My only grandchild was diagnosed with a devastating disease that typically causes premature death. My heart is torn almost in two and yet, I remain in love.
I had asked my grandson several years ago, “what is hope?”and he answered, “it’s love.” Hope is Love and Love is Hope. They operate together and now more than ever I am centering myself on the two of them. Although I do not know what the future holds, I know who holds the future and He is Love. There, I shall remain.
“It’s probably my job to tell you life isn’t fair, but I figure you already know that. So instead, I’ll tell you that hope is precious, and you’re right not to give up.” ― C.J. Redwine
No matter what you may be facing right now, don’t give up. Never, ever give up! Even though you may say, “yeah but, this isn’t fair,” have hope anyway. Truth is, no matter what you are going through right now, it will pass at some point and the sun will shine again. When we choose to hope through even the most difficult things in life, we are empowered. Hope is precious. Hang on to hope no matter what!
“When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless. But when you get involved, you feel the sense of hope and accomplishment that comes from knowing you are working to make things better.” ~Albert Einstein
Each new day provides us with an opportunity to be active in our hope. When we are doing something, large or small, to improve our situation or that of another, we increase our hope. Hope in action makes a difference. Move in it today!
